We’ll be exploring multiple two-light setups to obtain a large variety of lighting solutions. The number of lights is purposefully restricted to two, so as to focus on fundamental lighting principles and demonstrate the power and flexibility of working with just two light sources. Additional topics that will be covered include: · the inverse square law and general lighting theory; · camera and flash operation; · lens choice and perspective; · effects of shutter speed and aperture; · flash versus continuous lighting; · light placement and stands; · the influence of lighting modifiers; · the use of scrims, reflectors and flags. The course will be held at Capital City College’s brand-new Mosaic Soho facility over a single evening (from 5 pm to 9 pm). The course will be held at Mosaic Soho’s brand-new facilities over two evenings - Tuesday and Thursday from 5 - 9 pm.
